On the road for Christmas celebration

Rachel: I am currently a junior at Iowa State University majoring in biological illustration and minoring in Spanish. My dream career is a museum artist, designing and fabricating exhibits for museums of natural history and anthropology. Continuing from last year, I am an undergraduate assistant for ISU's First-year Honors Program. With two other U.A.'s and faculty members, we are coordinating the program, training 75 leaders to co-lead two classes a week, organizing a retreat for almost 500 students this fall, and co-leading leadership classes with faculty members to provide the 75 leaders with leadership skills and tools to utilize. This past summer, I traveled with other BPMI (biological/pre-medical illustration) students to the Boundary Waters for camping and sketching wildlife. I also studied abroad in Spain for six weeks followed by some traveling with my mom and sister. I loved growing up in my small Iowa town of 1600 with my mom, dad, sister Sarah, and a variety of pets, but I was very excited for college and all of its opportunities.
